September 5, 2006 Memphis, TN Active Implants Corporation Announces Vice President Orthopedic Research
Active implants Corporation (AIC), a pioneer in pliable orthopedic implant technology, today announced that Richard Treharne, PhD, has joined the executive management team as Vice President of Orthopedic Research.
Since November of 1990, Dr. Treharne has served in several capacities with his last position as Vice President of Regulatory Affairs at Medtronic, Inc. (NYSE: MDT), Spinal and Biologics Business based in Memphis, Tenn. Prior to Medtronic, Dr. Treharne spent over 14 years with Smith & Nephew plc (NYSE: SNN; LSE: NS). Treharne received a PhD in Metallurgy and Materials Science and Master of Science in Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania and a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Pennsylvania and a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Memphis. He has authored over 45 publications, granted six U.S. patents and has obtained Food and Drug Administration (FDA) clearance for over 300 medical device submissions.
