RICHARD W. TREHARNE, PHD
has served as our Vice President, Clinical Research & Regulatory/Quality Affairs since August 2006. He brings vast experience in regulatory affairs to AIC with more than 300 medical devices successfully approved by the FDA to his credit. Dr. Treharne is an inventor with patented ideas and a recognized expert on global regulatory matters, medical device research, and clinical study process management. From 1990 to 2006, Dr. Treharne served in various positions including Senior Vice President of Regulatory Affairs and Vice President of Research and Regulatory Affairs for Medtronic Sofamor Danek. From 1976 to 1990, Dr. Treharne served as Technical Director, Director of Research for Smith & Nephew Richards plc. He currently serves on the Board of NuVasive, a medical device company focused on surgical treatment of spine disorders. Dr. Treharne received a PhD degree from the University of Pennsylvania, an MBA from Memphis State University, an MSE from the University of Pennsylvania, and a BS Degree in Metallurgical Engineering from Ohio State University.
